It's always nice to receive testimonials from other Health Care Professionals and patients (published with full patient approval):
Mr Andrew D Price FBDO(Hons)CL MBCLA . Has done an amazing job at getting the contact lenses I needed . After trying unsuccessfully for years in getting suitable lenses for my high astigmatism he’s gone above all expectations including a much better prescription for my vision . For myself I have needed gas permeable lenses but they are just as good and comfortable as the more modern soft lenses . I would not hesitate in recommending Mr price at the practice in Widnes for lenses for patients with complex prescriptions and the after care he provides, which is something I feel is needed .

On being told I was retiring, which was not fully acurate, as I simply moved my clinic to a new practice
I understand from Jackson's Opticians in Nantwich that you will shortly be retiring. Congratulations! Enjoy every moment! Unfortunately, I won't see you before you do retire.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the very bottom of my heart for all your care and advice over the last almost 4 years. It has been utterly invaluable, as evidenced by the significant improvement in my dry eye condition in that time. Also, emotionally, I was in a very dark place when I first came to you as a result of several unsatisfactory appointments with opticians, doctors and eye specialists. It has been wonderful not only to have had your recommendations and mask treatments and all the check-ups but also your understanding and support all this time. Thank you so much for keeping me on your patient list. It has meant so much to me. Have a wonderful retirement! Very very best wishes.

My Name is Nicola Badwick for the past 6 months I have been suffering with chronic dry eyes. My consultant at the Yale hospital was unable to do anymore for me after trying many treatments and drops. Also I had punctal plugs fitted. Nothing seemed to work. My consultant then advised me to visit Mr Price at SW+C Jacksons opticians in Nantwich to see if they could help me . Mr Price gave me a schirmer test and there was hardly any water in my eyes. He said suggested that my lacrimal glands may have stopped working.
So I was offered a 3 week course of photobiomodulation, this is a special mask that gives out heat and light. It fits over the face and is painless. After 3-weeks I had brilliant results. I was also cleaning my eyes at home and using special eye drops supplied by Mr Price. After 3 weeks he did another schirmer test on my eyes and the results were amazing. Lots more tears in my eyes and the burning and gritty feeling were vastly improved. I will return in 3 months time for a follow up. Mr Price is very professional and I am thrilled with the results and can now start to enjoy my everyday life.

I had been “putting up” with a sore dry eye, itchy and sore lids, some tear leakage and sticky eyes in a morning. I had been using over the counter artificial tears, but they made little difference to the dry eye. I had flakes on my lids when I scratched. My optometrist referred me to Mr Price, a specialist in dry eye.
Mr Price is very professional, obviously extremely knowledgeable and creates a clinical environment where you trust him.
He did an extensive examination and then discussed my care. He prescribed an eye mask to be warmed and then for me to massage the eyelids. A clear fluid came out from my lids after this exercise. I also have a cleansing solution for my lids. The crusts on my lids have gone. I also have eye drops. These are far superior to the ones I have been using and my dry eye is controlled.
I would recommend Mr Price to you.

Thank you so much for the wonderful care and treatment I received. Mr Andrew Price has solved my dry eye problems, which has given me normality in my life again, I can't thank him and Diana Haines enough. See you both in three months for my check-up/review
Liz Langdon, a patient in north Wales.
I first experienced vision problems back in February 2021. Over the course of the next few months, I consulted several eye professionals, each of whom diagnosed a condition called ‘dry eye’. However, apparently it was “only” dry eye and I was sent on my way each time with eye drops to use as often as needed.
As Mr Price explained at my first visit, it is not “only” dry eye. Dry eye causes wide-ranging and very uncomfortable symptoms. It is also emotionally very distressing, struggling to alleviate the symptoms with eye drops whilst not knowing if there will be any long-term damage to one’s eyes.
I am deeply relieved to have been under the continuous care of Mr Price for six months now. I have been assiduously following the daily eye care regime and have so far also had two treatments of “Photobiomodulation” or Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT).
Mr Price has always emphasised that progress would be slow, and it has been. Until very recently, moments of clear vision have been fleeting and a better day has often been followed by a couple of days where I felt that no lasting progress was being made.
Mr Price has also been very clear that my vision may never return to 100% stability but may, in time, return to manageable and sustainable levels of clarity and comfort. My current experience is bearing this out. Over the last month, I have noticed a very distinct improvement in vision. Whilst still unstable, the periods of clear vision have been more frequent and longer lasting. This perceived improvement was corroborated by the computer readings of tear film break-up time at my most recent clinic visit, which has improved dramatically in both eyes. I am cautiously excited!
I thank Mr Price sincerely for ensuring from the outset that I understood that the treatment of dry eye is no easy or quick fix. Whilst the daily eye care regime is not arduous and can be fitted into every day’s schedule, it does nevertheless require commitment, day-in day-out, and the programme of eye care and LLLT treatments has to be given time.
Given the improvements I have been experiencing recently, there is no question for me other than to stay committed to the programme. It may be taking time, it may take organisation, but ultimately, this is my best shot to achieve the best outcome possible for my vision.
A patient attending my clinic in SW & C Jackson Opticians, Nantwich
Dear Mr Price, I wanted to pass on my sincere thanks for the amazing help you have provided with regard to my eye health. Recommended by the team at Jacksons Opticians in Nantwich, I came to you with two long-term problems - dry-eye, which was often causing me extreme overnight pain; and blepharitis, which was so serious I had been referred to a local hospital. Four months on - the dry-eye events have reduced from around 8 per month to just two, and the intensity has greatly reduced; and the blepharitis is all but completely cured, as long as I continue with the treatment & practices which you have recommended. This has made a huge difference to my lifestyle - I can't thank you enough.

A patient moving to another part of the country in a thank you card
Firstly the lens is great and has removed the double vision. i have some outer field of vision with it which i suspect is helpful. Having suffered with diplopia for just over a year and with little chance of improvement my ophthalmologist suggested an occlusive lens may help. I contacted Andrew price who met with me and talked me through the process and possible benefits of wearing an occlusive lens.
An appreciative contact lens patient
As Andrew had first hand experience of double vision it was a relief to describe to someone what I was seeing and feeling who actual could understand my situation. I was measured and then tried an occlusive lens. The relief of removing the double vision was immense. If anyone reading this has double vision and have feel that they are stuck with it I strongly suggest you give Andrew a call and let him show you what can be done. Thank you Andrew
